The following steps will guide you in the basic usage of Personator for Contact Zone.

Component Settings

Navigate to Tools > Melissa Data Settings > Components > Personator

Set up the Personator Component Settings. See Component Settings.

Add Component

To add Personator to your project, drag the component onto the Data Flow screen. This will snap the Personator Component into your workflow space.

Connect Input

Select a data flow source to be your input data. Many formats can be used as Sources, including Excel files, flat files or Access Input data sources. Connect this data source to the Personator Component by dragging the arrow from your data flow source to the Personator Component.

Configure Component

Double click the Personator Component to bring up the interface.

Input Tab

Map the input fields.

Actions/Options Tab

Personator Actions

Choose what actions you want Personator to perform. This table automatically pulls the data from the first input step connected to the component.

Address Options

Output Tab

Here you choose which columns to include with your output. Select which Output Group or Output Column Name to include and click Add Group(s), Add All or Add Column(s), depending on which you wish to add. Once added, the output list can be modified by either entering a new name for the column under Column Name or by clicking Delete Row(s), Delete All or Delete Column(s) to remove the selected columns from your output.

Pass-Through Columns Tab

Click on “get fields”. You may choose which columns to pass through to the data file and which columns to filter out.

Output Filter Tab

You can specify the filter from the drop down or you can also create your own custom filter.

Connect Output

Add data destinations for the downstream output. Connect the respective output filter pin to the output destination.
