The following steps will guide you in the basic usage of Personator for Contact Zone.

Component Settings

Navigate to Tools > Melissa Data Settings > Components > Personator

Set up the Personator Component Settings. See Component Settings.


Add Component

To add Personator to your project, drag the component onto the Data Flow screen. This will snap the Personator Component into your workflow space.


Connect Input

Select a data flow source to be your input data. Many formats can be used as Sources, including Excel files, flat files or Access Input data sources. Connect this data source to the Personator Component by dragging the arrow from your data flow source to the Personator Component.


Configure Component

Double click the Personator Component to bring up the interface.


Map Fields

Input Tab

Map the input fields.


Choose Actions/Options

Personator Actions

Choose what actions you want Personator to perform. This table automatically pulls the data from the first input step connected to the component.

Address Options

Name, Address, Phone and Email Options can be set within the Advanced Options dialog box.


Setup Output

Here you choose which columns to include with your output. Select which Output Group or Output Column Name to include and click Add Group(s), Add All or Add Column(s), depending on which you wish to add. Once added, the output list can be modified by either entering a new name for the column under Column Name or by clicking Delete Row(s), Delete All or Delete Column(s) to remove the selected columns from your output.

Run Project

Now, the project is ready to run. It is possible to observe in real time as records flow from your input source through the Personator Component and pipe output source depending on the filtering options.
