In an effort to improve our Cloud service infrastructure, Melissa Data is adding new servers to our collection of server farms around the country. For most of our clients, this will not have an effect since neither the services themselves nor the access URLs will change. However, if your organization uses a firewall to limit access by IP address, you will have to add the new IP addresses to your firewall white list (list of allowable IPs) in order to continue communicating with all of our servers.
In keeping with the best and latest security practices of the technology industry, we are updating our HTTPS certificate. Currently, our certificates are signed with the SHA-1 algorithm while the new certificates will be signed with the SHA-256 algorithm. Many leading technology companies are making this change as well. Microsoft and Google have announced deprecation of SHA-1 in 2016.

To ensure uninterrupted access, please make sure your Operating Systems and client applications that use Melissa Data web services are capable of accepting HTTPS certificates with SHA-256. SHA-256 was first published in 2001 so most modern systems should have no trouble with the new certificate.

The updated list of IP addresses can be found here:

Please make sure all of our IP address ranges are allowed by your firewall before the April 21st deadline. We realize that changing firewall settings is not always a quick and easy process. However, in order to maintain the stability and reliability of our cloud services, these upgrades must be done.

Products Affected

All Melissa Data Cloud Services

Effective Date: September 21st, 2015
