Global Address Object can be used as a turning point at which the international data collected across your organization can be transformed into usable reliable information and maintained that way. Reference Data Coverage
Melissa Data utilizes the best sources of reference data available on the most frequent refresh schedule to provide a high quality address result. Our reference data is measured from the broadest level of coverage (Locality/Postal Code) to the most precise level of coverage (postal certified delivery point). Our current data coverage are as follows:
Country Name | Country Code | Maximum Address Verification Level | Maximum Geocode Level |
---|---|---|---|
Austria | AT | 4 - Premises | 4 – Interpolated Rooftop |
Canada | CA | 4 - Premises | 4 – Interpolated Rooftop |
Switzerland | CH | 4 - Premises | 4 – Interpolated Rooftop |
Germany | DE | 4 - Premises | 4 – Interpolated Rooftop |
United States | US | 5 - Delivery Point | 5 – Rooftop |
Verification Level | GeoCode Level | ||
---|---|---|---|
2 | Locality | 2 | Locality |
3 | Thoroughfare | 3 | Thoroughfare |
4 | Premises | 4 | Interpolated Rooftop |
5 | Delivery Point | 5 | Rooftop |
At Melissa Data we are constantly attempting to improve our coverage by adding reference data as well as using the data to its maximum potential. However, reference data is important but only half of the story for successful global address verification. The industry experience and top notch support provided by Melissa Data are also important factors in providing the best data quality solution.
Capabilities
Global Address Object can take the following types of inputs:
- Full Address within one to eight address lines
- Full Address parsed into address lines, locality, administrative area, and postal code.
The object can then return the following types of output:
- Full Address formatted into the locally preferred format
- Full Address split into delivery address lines and locality lines.
- Individual parsed components
- Additional information including latitude, longitude, and timezone
When considering the process that the Global Address Object performs when verifying or correcting an address there is a cycle the input address moves through to provide the highest quality match and verification result. This process applies a combination of matching logic and the highest quality reference data to product the best possible address result.
Languages/Scripts
Global Address Object supports the native language and script for each country that we support. For countries with native languages that does not use latin script, a translated or transliterated version of the address can be provided.†
†Currently not supported. Slated for a near future release.
