Matching Logic
Listware provides a set of pre-defined basic matching strategies. We have rolled MatchUp’s best matching logic into the available matchcodes, ensuring the greatest level of accuracy while maintaining a high level of web service performance and easy configuration within the component.
- Address
- Matches records by Address. This is a basic Householding matchcode.
- Address, Company
- Matches records by Company Name and Address. This is a basic Business matchcode.
- Address, Company AND Last Name, First Name
- Matches records by Company Name, Contact Name, and Address. Basic Employee level matchcode.
- Address, Company OR Last Name, First Name
- Matches records by Company Name and Address or by Contact Name and Address. This is used when there is a mix of business and individual records.
- Address, Fuzzy Last Name, Fuzzy First Name
- Match records by Fuzzy First Name, Fuzzy Last Name, and Address. The fuzzy algorithm allows for some typos and other slight variances, while still applying logic to find duplicates. This is a looser individual (or customer) level matchcode.
- Address, Last Name
- Match records by Last Name and Address. This is a family level matchcode.
- Address, Last Name, First Name
- Match records by First Name, Last Name, and Address. This is a basic individual (or customer) level matchcode.
- Name AND Address OR Phone OR E-mail
- Match records by Name and Address or by Phone Number or by E-mail. This is a good matchcode for linking contact records where expected duplicates have missing pieces of data.
- Use with caution! This matchcode can group contact records together via “friend of a friend of a friend” logic.
If you require more advanced matching capabilities consider MatchUp Object or MatchUp Component for SSIS.
